Apprenticeship Overview

This critical role ensures the delivery of care that is safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led, addressing the multifaceted needs of individuals facing diverse challenges. The role demands a strong commitment to regulatory compliance and nurturing a culture that prizes continuous improvement in care standards and professional development.
The apprenticeship focuses on essential areas such as compliance, risk management, dignity promotion, communication, safeguarding, health and wellbeing, professional development, and effective leadership. This programme is designed to equip current care sector staff with the skills and confidence required to excel in senior management roles. The curriculum is aligned with the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, offering a structured pathway to develop leadership capabilities.

Functional Skills
Functional Skills in English and maths are a vital part of all apprenticeship. Some learners will require Functional Skills support sessions. These sessions run from Tuesday to Thursday. The two-hour sessions begin at 9.30am, 12.30pm and 3pm. Friday are revision sessions for 3 hours, 9.30 and 1.30pm.
Functional Skills in English and maths form the cornerstone of all our apprenticeship programmes, providing learners with the essential literacy and numeracy skills required for workplace success. Recognising that some apprentices may need additional support in these areas, we offer dedicated functional skills support sessions. These are structured to fit within a busy work schedule, running from Tuesday to Thursday with each session lasting 2 hours, and offering start times at 9.30am, 12.30pm, and 3.00pm to accommodate various needs.
To further reinforce learners understanding and proficiency, we host comprehensive revision sessions every Friday. These sessions are 3 hours in length, with a choice of a 9.30am or 1.30pm start. These sessions are not only supportive but integral in ensuring our apprentices are well-equipped with the fundamental skills necessary for their development. For a deeper insight into how these functional skills sessions can benefit your team, we invite line managers to join our information sessions where we'll cover the structure, benefits, and outcomes of this essential component of our apprenticeship programmes.
End Point Assessment
To achieve the apprenticeship, at the end of the programme, apprentices will complete the End Point Assessment (EPA), which provides apprentices with the opportunity to demonstrate their competency within their role and to showcase the knowledge, skills, and behaviours they have gained. EPA is undertaken by an Independent Assessment Organisation who is responsible for the grading of the apprenticeship of either Fail, Pass, Merit, or Distinction.
The apprenticeship programme has been designed to equip the apprentice with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to make an impact in the workplace and support individual career progression.
